BME researchers in Horizon Europe project OpenSuperQPlus on developing the quantum computer

The project Open Superconducting Quantum Computers was launched on March 1, uniting 28 research partners from 10 European countries aiming to develop a 1000 qubit quantum computer.

Of Hungary’s science institutes, the Faculty of Natural Sciences (BME TTK) of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and the Wigner Research Center for Physics participate in the OpenSuperQPlus project, providing theoretical support for the development of the quantum computer. Besides the implementation methods of quantum error correction and fault-tolerant calculations, the specialists of the two institutions also develop programs necessary for the operation of the quantum computer.
